Say it ain't so!

So I tend to lurk in a gluten free forum over on live journal. It is often interesting and entertaining to see what people are posting about. Sometimes I am skeptical about the information that is posted on there. Some of it seems pretty extreme. Perhaps my Celiac is just not as sensitive as other folks. Recently, there was a topic that made me pause. I was wondering if any of you have had experience with this:

Have you ever been glutened by kissing a loved one who is not GF?

Do we really have to be that careful?

Is it more theoretical that you could be glutened?

Have any of you experienced this?

haha... I sometimes ask what has been recently consumed. my partner tends to eat a lot of cake...

I take no chances - The Man has to brush his teeth and use mouthwash before he kisses me. It seems that the longer I am GF, the more sensitive I get, so I just don't want to risk it.

Well, if my boyfriend just swallowed a swig of beer or just ate a normal cracker I will wait a few minutes, but I have never asked him to brush his teeth before kissing. I don't think I am that sensitive - thank goodness!

I won't kiss my fiance if he has crumbs on his face. But that's usually because he's just eaten some yummy-looking bread or cake right in front of me... He shouldn't be rewarded for that type of behaviour!

I don't kiss my man if he's just eaten something gluteny, just in case. I don't lick envelopes anymore either!
